What is a Facebook video downloader?
Facebook has a “Save video” option, but it only adds the video to a list inside Facebook — nothing reaches your device. A Facebook video downloader gives you the file itself, as an MP4 you can watch offline, archive or send to someone who does not use Facebook.
Press Share on the video, choose Copy link, and paste it into Clip Converter. Links from pages, profiles, Reels and Facebook Watch are accepted, including fb.watch short links.
How to use the Facebook Downloader
- Copy the Facebook link. Press Share on the video and choose Copy link. fb.watch short links work too.
- Paste it on the homepage. Paste the link into the box on the Clip Converter homepage and press Get Clip to load the available qualities.
- Download. Pick a quality and save the MP4, or use the Audio tab for MP3.
Key features
- HD when available. Every quality Facebook offers for the video is listed, so you can choose between size and sharpness.
- Videos, Reels and Watch. Public videos from pages, profiles, Reels and Facebook Watch are supported.
- Audio only. Save a speech, song or interview as MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC.
- No login requested. We never ask for your Facebook account details.
SD and HD
Facebook usually keeps a video in a standard-definition and a high-definition version. Both are listed when they exist. HD is the better choice for anything you will watch on a larger screen; SD is smaller and handy for sharing over messaging apps with size limits.
Public versus private videos
Only videos whose audience is set to Public can be downloaded. Videos shared with friends only, or posted in private and closed groups, are visible solely to people who are logged in and permitted to see them, so a web tool has no access to them.
If the video is your own, the simplest route is to change its audience to Public for a moment, download it, and change it back.
Audio from Facebook videos
Speeches, sermons, live music and interviews are often posted only on Facebook. The Audio tab saves the sound as MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC, which is convenient for listening on the go. Transcripts are usually not available, as Facebook rarely publishes caption tracks.

Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I download a video from a group?
Videos in private or closed groups are visible only to members, so they cannot be reached from the public web.
The video has sound on Facebook but my file is silent. Why?
This is rare and usually means Facebook served the audio separately and it could not be merged. Try a different quality from the list.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, email or app to install. Paste a link and the tool works in your browser on any device.
Is it legal to use?
Saving content you created, own, or have permission to use is generally fine. Downloading copyrighted material without permission may breach the platform’s terms or local copyright law. You are responsible for how you use the files.
