What is an online video trimmer?
A video trimmer cuts a section out of a longer video. Most trimmers make you download the entire file first and then cut it in an editor — slow and wasteful when you want thirty seconds of a two-hour stream. Clip Converter trims at the source: you set a start time and an end time, and only that section is fetched and saved.

How the trimmer works
After you paste a link, press Trim. A timeline appears with two handles that you can drag to the beginning and end of the part you want. If you know the exact times, type them instead — 1:30 and 2:45, or 1:02:10 for videos longer than an hour. Press Apply Trim, then choose a quality and download.
Because only the selected part is downloaded, a short clip from a very long video is usually ready in a small fraction of the time a full download would take.
Why a clip may start slightly early
Compressed video does not store every frame in full. It stores a complete picture, called a keyframe, every second or two, and describes the frames in between as changes from it. A clip can only begin cleanly on a keyframe.
There are two ways to deal with that. One is to re-encode the clip, which allows a frame-exact start but reduces quality and takes much longer. The other is to cut at the nearest keyframe and copy the video untouched. Clip Converter uses the second approach, so your clip keeps the exact quality of the original and may start up to about a second before the time you entered. Audio-only clips are cut exactly.
